The following was sent to me by a student from 2009.
Case Study is 30 yr old female with autiism. She is low functioning and needs constant supervision. Her mother described her daughter's life as being constant stress as she suffers from severe obsessive compulsive thoughts and actions and bouts of depression. In order to help these issues she is on very heavy medication, has stopped menstruation and gained weight.
The focus at first was to do a general treatment unsure of the response etc. The reflex areas of focus were brain, endocrine system, particularly adrenals, liver, solar plexus.
Each session began with her being very chatty and restless, calming down as the treatment progressed and she stayed calm for several hours after. Apparently she was always in a better frame of mind and more relaxed in general for a few days following.
The treatments were always looked forward to and at the end of them she was much calmer and sleeping better.
Well done Natalie! |

Footsteps Newsletter - Winter 2009 |
Greetings,
Hello everyone,,
Having had a warmer than usual fall here in Ontario, we are about to experience the start of winter. This is a perfect time to look at your business for next year, evaluate what was good and what wasn't and how you can improve for the coming 12 months. Hopefully you will all find something useful.
We have some exciting news to share with you - Footsteps is launching its own teacher training programme from January 2010 and we are looking for students who have a passion for Reflexology and want to share that with others. Check out the website in January for all the details.
Also the CRHP course has now been upgraded to a 300 hour Diploma course from January 2010 and attracts 78 CEU's for registered massage therapists.
Remember to keep healthy in this coldest season, a healthy body means a healthy business.
All the best, Janet |

Teacher Training Programme
Footsteps is looking for 'Footsteps trained' reflexologists who have been in practice for at least two years and would like to share their passion for Reflexology with other students.
From January 2010 our first teacher will be offering Diploma courses in Yarmouth, NS and from March 2010 our second teacher will be offering courses in Windsor, Ontario. Maybe this is something you have thought about doing??
The programme is designed to help teach you how to impart your knowledge to adult learners, their different learning styles and the process includes plenty of ongoing evaluation and modulation.
If this is something you think you might be interested in, please contact Janet in the new year by phone or email. |

The Compass
The COMPASS System is a remarkable and reliable assessment tool. It is cutting edge technology and allows you to learn information directly from your body, to help you in your decision process as to which nutritional product to choose.
The Compass System combines the power of dynamic changes in the electrical properties of the skin with Zyto's Decision Support Technology software. This technology measures the fluctuations in the energy patterns of the skin.
When you place your hand on the Compass hand cradle, this sends stimuli to the body using a digital signature, representative of various alternatives like nutritional supplements. The hand cradle looks very similar to a computer mouse, just a little larger.
The Compass measures 76 bio-markers in your body. This records the bio-frequency of each marker and records those out of range or out of balance. Then it gives you a picture of your bio-markers that are out of range.
When the Compass registers the imbalance, it looks for the correct supplements that will create the balance in the body
This assessment is available by calling Brenda Whan @ 416-518-1851. |
